I think people make too big of a deal about Valentine’s Day. It’s kind of ridiculous. When I used MySpace I would post a blog every year on Valentine’s Day about how it doesn’t matter if you have someone or don’t, it’s about recognizing love, in any form. Everyone has love in some way, whether it’s your family, friends or your significant other. Appreciate it. I can’t stand when girls expect their boyfriends to buy them extravagant gifts for Valentine’s Day. Sure, it’s nice, but in my opinion, I think it muddies up the day with materialistic expectations. My most favorite Valentine’s Day memories involve dinner and being with the one I love. Simple as that. So in short, I don’t think it’s pointless, but I think it’s more important to keep it simple, keep it fun, and remember that Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be the one day of the year that you appreciate the love you have. You should appreciate it every day, no matter what kind it is.
